It is reported that Casino Royale director Martin Campbell first offered the part of James Bond to Ewan McGregor. Ewan turned down the part for fear of being typecast in the future.I don't know about you, but I would have been thoroughly intrigued by seeing McGregor as Bond. While I do understand that Bond movies aren't exactly high art, I really would have enjoyed him.
